I haven't been using the runes for very long - in fact I still have to refer to a book with a few of them, but I tend to use them when I need reassurance or I've lost my way a bit.
Anyhow, last Summer I had some really important exams, I had studied as much as my lifestyle would allow, but with accountancy it's not just a case of remembering facts and waffling around those. I was a little concerned that I just wasn't up to the task and turned to my runes to see if they could reassure me.
The morning of my final exam I drew 3 Runes and was pleasantly suprised to find thay said I was going to have some kind of exam, but not to worry, I would reap the rewards of my hard work and the outcome was very positive, in fact I'd sail through any task.
As you can imagine, I was heartened by this and set off quietly confident that I would cope with anything the examiner chucked at me! What a shock I got! The exam paper bore absolutly no resemblence to anything I had studied in the past papers. It is the only time in my life that I have ever thought 'shall I just go home now and have done?'. I didn't, I figured I was here, what the heck, I'd give it my best shot. I spent the entire 3 hours wondering why the runes had lied to me.
When I got home I sobbed, what a waste of a year of my life. I emailed my sister in law and had a good old whinge telling her that the runes had played me false. She wrote back and said 'The Runes NEVER lie'.
3 monthes later, I received my results and was amazed to find I had passed. Maybe the runes had more faith in me that I had in myself...... I'm now in my final year with loads more exams, but I'll trust the runes this time!

Runes give you a picture of what can be and are usually accurate of course you have to work at things. As you had done your best you were rewarded for all your hard work. We can all doubt ourselves at times but in the end if we open ourselves to the possibilities around us and work at things we often surprise ourselves into the bargain. Well done on your pass.

Wow. That's a pretty inspiring story. I've been reading runes for a couple of years now and i still need the book. I'm trying to keep my New Years Resolution to read them every day.

Runes are not what they seem to the new comer. They do not lie our own perception can misguide us. I learnt the elder futhark names an general attributions in a matter of Days. My tutor an anglo egyptian lady tested me daily. many years later I was initiated into Runes which cannot be found in books. These are not so much learnt as proved, i assure you the Runes do not lie and should always be respected. love them as you would a member of your family and you may one day find runic ancestory. Blessed be.
