A ritual is a series of rites performed together

A ritual usually consists of casting the circle, invoking the elements, inviting the Goddess and the God into the circle, raising power if necessary, and performing any work you intended to do, then thank the Goddess and the God, banish the elements then open the circle.

this sort of ritual should be done every time you do any form of magickal work

also, if you're doing a rite of celebration, honouring or giving thanks it should be done with this ritual as well

as for when, the basic circle casting should be done every time you do any other form of ritual work, but, as for the work you do in the circle, if it's a spell and a certain day is recommended then do it on that day

a full moon is considered powerful as you can draw on the moons power to boost your spell, also as a good time to honour the Goddess and give thanks

rituals can be done at the sabbats as well to ask for blessings, give thanks, and honour the seasons and the Goddess
