OK - please excuse my ignorance in these matters - but could some please explain to me in simple terms the difference between Pagan and Wicca?

I've always been interested in the alternative - and if asked yes I do believe there are other forces at work - although I'd be first to say I don't understand what or way and that's what I'd like to try and get a handle on.

This time last year we moved into a house with the number 13!! I love the house but I'm very superstitious and since moving in we've had nothing but sadness and bad news.

To be honest I think it's me - because the house has a happy atmosphere - how can I reflect that into my home, and dispel this downer I have on the number 13 - unless of course it's not misplaced!!!

I am a complete novice here - so please be gentle with me.

Many thanks.

Janice

Paganism is a general term applied to the traditional polytheistic religions and traditions mainly of Europe and the Mediterranean basin. Neo-paganism is what is used to describe reconstructionist religions such as Hellenic, Celtic and Germanic traditions today. Wicca on the other hand is a neo-pagan movement with a bewildering number of branches and traditions. Its origins and history before 1941 are however debatable. Its original creator/discoverer was Gerald Gardner who claimed it was an old religion passed down through the ages by those who refused to convert to christianity. He claimed to have stumbled across one such coven in the new forest and this was how he found out about its history and technicalities. However skeptical evidence against Gardners claims are quite strong. Much of the information that comprised Wicca was available in the occult scene at the time, from such sources as the Woodcraft movement, Druidry and the works of Crowley. Whatever the true origins it is probably the most popular of all neo-pagan movements.

As for the bad luck, a good old fashion piece of positive mental attitude cannot go amiss. There is an old occult saying that like attracts like. If you want more happiness in your life then you should have a happier attitude. It is very much the case of we create our own world.

Thank you Daniel - I really do think it is me.

My wee mum died in March and it's been a struggle ever since - like if anything can go wrong it will....

I suppose I just want a break to grieve in peace - but the bad news just keeps rolling in.

My mum was a positive wee soul - and I know she wouldn't want us mopping about for the rest of our lives.

There is positive energy there I'm just not getting into it right now.

Having recieved my order from you today I would like to offer very positive feedback. It is for my daughters birthday (which I ordered late and didn't expect it to arrive in time) on Sunday so I am really pleased how fast you sent it out. The packaging was great and the pentegram met more than my expectations. I have just ordered another one for my Grandaughter and will definately be recommending you to my friends. Many thanks
