lately i feel like i have been falling off my wiccan path, i just don't feel connected anymore even though i love the basis of wicca like the beauty in nature, and celebrating the turning of the wheel. what can i do to feel in touch with with it again?

Everybody gets to this sort of stage at one time or another. But as it's come to you you've got to decide whether you really have the dedication to follow the path you've chosen. Celebrating the cycle of the year, and loving nature is not going to be enough if you don't feel connected to the practises and rituals you are doing. It may be that you need to adjust your path and follow a slightly different one, or you simply need to take a step back and reevaluate what it was that drew you to the one you are on now, and then look at the reasons why you think you lost that passion and drive for it.
Everyone gets this way at one time, so don't panic! Don't push yourself, just take your time and if you decide to continue this will all seem silly. But if you decide to change to another path, don't feel you've failed. Because some people follow one path for years and then decide to follow another, it doesn't make them any less dedicated. In fact they are usually stronger because they've had a chance to realise they made a mistake, and simply grow from it.
I hope it goes well for you, and I send my best wishes. Blessings Dusty Angel x

Stop panicking would be a good start! You're worrying too much. As I said take your time. You know you want to be Wiccan. Ok, so now answer the question for yourself, why do you know you want to be wiccan? If you can answer that you will know which way to turn. If you don't then go read as much as you can. Almost start again, go back to the roots you started with. Sometimes you need to look at what you have and know before you can understand where to head afterward. It might be that you will mix in bits of other spiritual paths to create your own sense of completion. But either way panicking because you are lost is not the way to carry on. If you were lost in a storm you'd head for the nearest light, knowing it would be somewhere warm to go. Going back to your roots and beginnings is that light. But at the moment I'd say you are walking in circles in the storm rather than being calm and trying to find your way out. If you want to talk to me directly contact me via my myspace address, don't forget to say who you are. www.myspace.com/xdustyangelxBlessings, and don't worry! Dusty Angel x

i went threw the exact same thing in my second year of practicing i actually stopped for about a year and came back stronger. i had all these questions still unanswered in my mind and i felt like i wasn't doing anything on my path and i hit a brick wall that took me a wail to break threw, i have now created a new path from my own creation i use all walks of life (apart from organized religion but that's a different discussion lol) so i would suggest to take a step back a deep breath and see weather the path your on needs to be adjusted or changed BB BMW

Hi Applerose
For now I'd say hold off on learning anymore new pieces while you are still pondering over your path. If you've passed your little problem then by all means read away. There are dozens of herb books out there, and I'd recommend a good herbal bible and a practical one to get started with. Which ones you use are down to you though, as I can't recommend any that would be a starter guide, mine are a little advanced for what you need.
I'd also say have a search about and start by learning a few of the more common ones for both your spells and for other means i.e. aromatherapy, fresh incense etc. I'd pick something simple which doesn't carry health warnings like Lavender. As you can use the flowers in food (specific ones only though), dried flowers in spells and such, and in aromatherapy the oils can be used neat in some cases. It's a big study, but you might find it a rewarding one if you go into it in depth over time.
However moving onto the healing hands thing, I think you need to explain what your psychic meant and if she was credible. Does she mean you can heal with just your hands alone? Or did she mean you can learn to heal with crystals etc?

Hi Dusty Angel, Thanks for the info on herbs an the books to get me started, i will definitley look into it and maybe add it to my christmas wish list lol.
I went to a physchic fayre a couple months back, and there was a man doing a talk on mediumship and tarot. when he came to me and my mum, he just we both had the 'healing touch' or 'healing hands' and that we could both make good mediums. i find this odd as my mum is a nurse and i want to be a vetenary nurse, but he didnt really specify on crystals anything.
Thanks for your help again! brightest blessings, love and light )O(

Greetings again Applerose,
Being a medium isn't as easy as this person made it out to be. There are many different types, and being called a medium doesn't always mean talking to spirits. Some people can just feel them. (also called a sensative) However if you want to find out more about this, I'd go into a book shop and find something on expanding your psychic mind. Although I will admit, I've never heard of someone learning to do it, only born with it. But I guess it can't hurt to try.
As for the healing hands bit. It's a little strange as it could mean all manner of things. Ranging from someone who has the power to heal using their own energy and directing it through the hands (laying on of hands or reiki) to someone who is simply destined to be a healer in that profession (a nurse, doctor, vet etc) I can't really answer the question as I wasn't there to hear him. And if I'm honest at fairs like that I'm always a little dubious about what they say. He might have been the real mccoy, he might not. But as your mum is a nurse, he might have picked up on that sort of aura of a healer.
However healing is something you can learn. Crystal healing is a lovely way to learn to heal, and once you have the basics of that you can expand into other areas like reiki. It is a very dedicated study though, as you have to be able to protect yourself and channel the energy without leaving yourself open to the negativity of the person you are healing, and you also need to make sure that you cleanse the area you are working in before and after extremely well. There are some wonderful books out there that list which crystals to use, but I have always found that having a bag of many different ones and letting them tell you if they are to be used is the best way (i do this by running my hands over them focussing on the person I'm healing, when one feels right I use that one.) But find out what it is you wish to do first. Reiki is slightly more involved and a lot more dedicated. So I wouldn't suggest you try this to begin with. But have a search about, and read up on the various techniques and then decide if it is for you.
I hope I have been of help to you. I'm around if you want anymore information. Blessings Dusty Angel x

Dear Dusty Angel,
I have been doing a lot of thinking over the christmas holidays, and I now know which area/path I am going to study. I was reading an article in a magazine about aura's and was coompletely hooked! I tried some of the techniques on how to see your own aura which has greatly encouraged me. I practise it every day and haven't stopped researching it!
The second is crystal healing. I was in the library yesterday in the mind, body and spirit section (where I always am lol) looking for a book on auras. I didn;t find one but i did find one on crystal healing. i loved the ways in which almost anything can be healed using crystals and the crystal elixirs really caught my eye.
As well as that I am reading a huge big book on Witches-true encounters with Wicca, Wizards, Covens, Cults and Magick by Hans Holzer. So far I am only the Introduction and it is talking about the Old Religion which i find very interesting, especially on how nearly everything has orginated from Wicca/Witchcraft.
I just thought I would let you know on what I have chosen to do and hope your christmas was a safe and peaceful one.
Brightest Blessings, Love and Light )O(

Hi Applerose,
I apologise for not answering your posting quickly. I didn't go on the internet at all between Christmas eve and New Years Day. I've only just seen the posting.
I'm pleased you've found your path now, and I'm glad to hear you are back studying. Auras are very good to study, try and find somewhere that can take a photo of your aura, its even more fasinating to see it like that.
I hope you are happy now? You seem more confident now you are back following your path again. Let me know if you want anymore information. If I can help I will.
Brightest Blessings. Dusty Angel x
