Hi all!

I know that quite a few of us here prefer the spontaneous-type rituals, or hedge/kitchen witchery. But, for those of us with a more ceremonial lean (guilty!) I was wondering who would be willing to share the framework of their basic ritual?

I've just re-written my basic ritual. It's now more elaborate, with clearly defined stages. I've still got some tweaking to do - the sort that you only know if it needs tweaking when you actually physically practice it! - but for anyone interested, here's the basic stages! I'll be posting the full thing on my facebook account - Althara Pagan.


Physical clean of the area
Physical clean of the self
Set up the Altar
Light the Temple Candle
Ring bell once
Declaration of purpose/intent
Ritually cleanse the space (ie, with salt/herb mix and oil mister).

Bring in the Elements
Cast Circle
Consecrate the water and bless the salt
Create Saltwater - 3 pinches of salt stirred into the water
Purify the Circle - with the saltwater, and incense (fire/air)
Anointing (self/others)
Invoke the Elements/Watchtowers
Invoke the Gods
Bell ring x3
Declaration.

Great Rite Symbolic (short version)
Rite of Wine and Cakes
Thank the Gods
Thank the Elements
Take down the Circle
Declaration
Bell ring x4
Extinguish candles, Temple candle last
Clear away.
