Merry meet all
Sorry for not being on the forums lately. I have been quite busy , but also been feeling very disconnected from the Gods and Paganism in general. Weirdly enough my spirituality just went walkies a month after i finished my college course!!Is this even normal? I used to say my prayers to Hermes, Athena and Apollo while going to and from travelling to college and being very consistant in acknowledging the Gods and Goddesses. Yet its been 5 months that I have bee feeling this and its kinda scaring me a w bit, its like I have lost my Faith in the Gods altogether! :( Has anyone been feeling like this at any point and how did you get out of it or ratehr how did you find your spirituality again?
Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated :) Blessings )O(

Merry Meet Ultraviolet Angel, by unique chance I decided to have a browse at the discussion forum and saw your sad feelings. However, ditto is all I have to say hence not contributing or discussing anything for some time. I think at times we do feel rejected by many arenas work, family frends and we feel the natural forces are against us? Sad to say but I am looking forward to gettig Yule over with an dhavign a new start something I have never done. I have always embraced life even during adversity. my plight is work which dominates a great deal of our lives adn I have a meetign today about an unknown agenda. Suffice to say I have prepared my crystal with a charm and will ask for protection all day. Keep smiling Ultraviolet Angel sometimes out Goddesses, Gods adn Guides step away from us for a while to enable us to learn a new chapter in our life BB Majadim

Hey Ultraviolet Angel :) Quote:Keep smiling Ultraviolet Angel sometimes out Goddesses, Gods adn Guides step away from us for a while to enable us to learn a new chapter in our life ^ This is exactly it. And sometimes life just gets in the way - you've recently finished your college course, so you've lost your routine for prayers. And once you've broken a routine, it's hard to go back. Perhaps trying to start a new routine would help? Rather than saying your prayers as you go to and from college, say them morning and evening? Or use another convenient time of day when you're not doing much. The Gods are eternal, remember - they have all our lives and all of time to be adored, loved and worshipped. 5 months isn't going to make a whit of difference to a deity that's over 3000 years old! I know that more generally, my active practising waxes and wanes throughout the year, and even over the course of several years. My BOS highlights the transitions - I have gaps of almost entire years in there! So yes, it's entirely normal to have a few months where you're feeling disconnected. Don't worry about it! If you really feel like you've lost your faith in the Gods, sit down and have a nice big think about theology and what you believe in now. If you're having an agnostic (unsure) period, again don't worry! Use it as a time to develop your own personal ethics without considering any deities. They'll let you know when it's time to come back! Blessed be, hun Althara

Very wise words, Althara! I often have periods where I feel I've lost touch, but I know my beliefs never leave me and I think there are lots of ways we are all always in touch with Paganism. For example by the way we are always respectul of other people's beliefs, respectful of nature, etc. So I don't think it matters if you don't always have time to pray, or meditate, or physically celebrate a festival. I didn't get to celebrate Samhain this year as I had wished to, things have been so hectic over the past couple of weeks as I've moved to a new town and started a new job so I'm all up in the air! So I just took a few minutes in the evening to sit and think about it and to remember loved ones who have passed.

Sorry to hear that you've lost you're way a bit, but I utterly agree with the advice meted here, take your time, and you'll return to the path once more. A college course is a huge undertaking, once you've had a reprieve from that you will find a new routine I am sure. Blessings, x
