Hi all BigGrin

I have just started reading up on Wicca and could do with some help if possible? I have only read one book- The only Wiccan spell book you'll ever need by Trish MacGregor and Martin Singer and found this to be quite usefull and helped me understand a bit more however im not sure if this would have been my best choice. I have always had an interest in Wicca and have now decided that it is the right time to start practicing.

I have also been practicing the Tarot cards and seem to have a great response and have never been wrong yet altho I am not fully confident to read for others than myself and my boyfriend and one of my closest friends. The cards I am using are The New Mythic Tarot by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene which I bought from Waterstones and felt that I was imediately drawn to them which was surprising as I have very litle knowlege of Greek Mythology which they are related to.

I would apprecite any advice you all can give please!

Many Thanks xxx

Smile Welcome to the forum, you will find a vast range of experience here and loads of great advice- the book you have mentioned is not one that I have read, so can't comment, I like Scott Cunninghams' books, and would recommend them, and I recently read Marian Greenes' A Witch Alone, and found it very helpful. I am sure our friends here will have lots of suggestions for you!

Thanks Lady Lustre :)

I had a look on a few posts last night and saw a few mention Scott Cunningham and have now started reading Wicca for the solitary practitioner which is turning out to be pretty good and easy to understand.

Any more suggestions would be great :)

Merry meet little doll,
I have to say i love scott cunningham his books just seem to flow for me. I have quite a number of his books and have allways found them helpfull. There are now plenty of books on wicca and paganisim in general, but i allways seem to go back to his. You have to of course just go with what feels connected to you and everyone is differant and will follow differant paths. So the best advice i can give to you is just do what feels right for you. Generally if it feels right then it is. I wish you well on your journey along the path.

Blessed be

Merry meet Little Doll, and welcome!

May I also recommend some of my favourite authors - Kate West is a wonderful woman and it was her books that started me on my Path! She has an Alexandrian approach, so hers is a more traditional path than Cunningham's but she is very easy to read and highly enjoyable.

Ann Moura is another favourite of mine for her Green Witchcraft series, this is less Wiccan in its approach but if you like herbal and natural work, then she is very informative. Her ritual style is highly formalised and I must admit it is more formal than I like, but her information and approach is wonderful.

Marie Bruce, too, is a very feminist author. I highly recommend her book Solitary Witchcraft - as a woman I found this very empowering. She is all about empowering women to see past the stereotypes that modern society puts on us, and she helps us see how Moon-time (your period!!) is a gift of the Goddess rather than something to be hated and dreaded.

Merry meet Lilttle Doll

welcome to the forums, there are many wisewomen , (myself included) and men on here who will definatly be of great help to you if you need it. If you have any queries or question just ask and without a doubt someone on here will help you out :)

I would recommend Marie Bruce' , Witches Almanac, which is a very good basic book to start off with as i found it very easy to read and very helpful if you are stuck on a particular sabbat or esbat :)

Having recieved my order from you today I would like to offer very positive feedback. It is for my daughters birthday (which I ordered late and didn't expect it to arrive in time) on Sunday so I am really pleased how fast you sent it out. The packaging was great and the pentegram met more than my expectations. I have just ordered another one for my Grandaughter and will definately be recommending you to my friends. Many thanks
