Hi Guys,

I must admit, this is a new one for me. I recently moved into a new home and cleansed it thoroughly of any negative energy. No problems there, everything went really well. However, recently, I've noticed a spirit cat around the house. My protections tend to focus on human spirits, mainly anything negative, but I admit to being woefully ignorant on the issue of spirit animals.

Of course, the cat means me no harm, and to be honest, I really don't mind having it around. I see it occasionally, but more often than not, at night while I'm getting ready to go to sleep, I hear it grooming itself and sense it settling on the bed.

I've already got a cat, and my first cat died nearly ten years ago, so I can't imagine that its her. It may be attracted to me as I already own a cat, that my house is welcoming and a Wiccan home, and that it's getting close to Samhain.

So, really, I'd like to know people's opinions. Obviously, it's no bother to me to have it around, but should I try and help the cat find its way to the Summerlands, or simply accept that its here for a reason and acknowledge and welcome it into my home? If I should try and help it to move on, does anyone have any suggestions on rituals or spells that work with animals.

Thanks :)

Tori

If it doesn't seem unhappy then I see no reason to try and push things around. It's up to you whether you 'welcome it in' and treat it almost as a spirit pet, but "you can stay so long as you don't break nuffin" probably wouldn't go amiss.

I agree,

If it not bothering you and you are content to have kitty there, why bother?

Perhaps it's come for a reason? (one yet to be revealed)

I agree with what everybody else says if the cat seems happy in your home then just leave it be xx
