Just a quickie on Silver... her history's terrible, and she encourages teens to lie and go behind their parents' backs in her book Teen Witch. Would you really feel comfortable reccommending an author like that to someone new on the path? Once you know enough to be able to laugh whenever she claims that millions were killed during the Burning Times, then maybe she can give a different perspective on things.

The Fararrs are definitely worth a read. Their book 'A Witches' Bible' is heavy-going in places, but it's a really good book especially if you're interested in more traditional aspects of Wicca.

Kate West is a fantastic author ^.^

I also recommend Ann Moura's Green Witchcraft series. It's a more natural approach to the Craft, and whilst not strictly Wicca, if you enjoy working with herbs and plants, you should certainly give her a read.

If you're interested in traditional Gardnerian Wicca, read books by Gerald Gardner and Doreen Valiente.

Also, books on mythology are useful! Try to get hold of these at you library before buying them though, as some will be easier to read and absorb than others. Do try to know who you're calling before you call Them!
