I have been trying to find myself a name to use now I have decided to follow the well worn path of the Craft, I have been searching for over 18 months and so far nothing is sitting well with me. I have tried on for size the following: Spellbinder Moon Wolf Celtic Thunder Nemesis Wolfsbane The latest is Rebel Heart, as that is what my beloved used to call me in a previous existance. I don't want anything sounding Native American as I am Welsh, nor do I want the usual Willow, Raven, Morrigan etc, etc. So any helpful suggestions would be appreciated on how to come up with a suitable name. www.livingspirits.co.uk

i will give you a helping hand here i simple way would to think whats your frav color or animal somthing like that. like mine is BlueMoonWonder Blue isnt my frav color but ever since i was a kid i loved the moon and space so i thought moon, then click bluemoon came to mind then i thought there wonderful and a rear occasion so i thought wonder then bluemoonwonder came together.
i would suggest staying away from things like god and goddesses name and things like Merlin so you not seen as your only doing it as a fad.
what ever you pick remember it will be with you and you need to like it to be fully satisfied.
Hope i helped BB BMW

Thanks, my point exactly, Once I have finally decided, I don't want to change it at some/any point. My totum Tree is Holly My totum Animal is a Wolf (I have always loved wolves and have adopted 3 and fundraise for www.wwuk.org) I am happest when in what I call my forest. My fav. crystal is jet, closely followed by amethyst. I have made two wands for myself, 1 of holly, the other ivy, same with pendulums though I purchased a black banded agate one and a maplewood one that was made in New England. I have also made myself several personal sets of runes in holly & ivy, a set of oghams in holly (am in the process of making ivy ones) I have made runes out of beech for friends, also make runic pendants (mainly Algis) though I have made bindrunes too. I have never had any urge to 'play' with wood, but all this has happened over the last 18 months after someone suggested a visit to a local castell, which given I am a woman in her early 50s and ill, is all rather odd A friend once told me that I wouldn't find my calling, it would find me, however, I just wish it hadn't taken so long to present itself, life would have been so much easier if it had happened in my 20s, 30s or even 40s. Still, I am doing the best I can illness permitting. Sorry this is so long, but I thought the info might give you some pointers that you can share with me as I ain't getting any younger you know www.livingspirits.co.uk

I didn't think I ever wanted to change my Craft name either... But the one I chose 7 years ago (Kestral) just doesn't fit me any more. I'm seeing how I feel about Althara before I choose it for my new Name... All I can advise is to follow your heart. And that might be difficult ^.^ You could always pray to the Gods, ask for help in choosing your name! They might have one in mind for you, you never know! BB!

I went through a gazillion different craft names, ranging from god names to names of runes, until I finally settled on Howler. How I found it was from a film believe it or not. I love anime, and also love Howl's moving Castle (an anime film about a young attractive wizard named Howl Pendragon), and so, liking the name Howl, and not wanting to be too much of a rip off from the film, I chose Howler so, just proves, sometimes your craft name'll just pop out at you from the most unlikely sources lol!
Bright Blessings! **)O(** -Howler

The funny thing is, just about ALL my friends know me as Loki or Dark Angel I read somewhere, it not good to change your name, something to do with the Akashik records I have asked the old ones, but no answer yet. At this rate, I shall be the nameless one www.livingspirits.co.uk

Last night, when out under the moon in my back garden, I spoke to the Lord & Lady, again asking for help in finding a suitable name. As I was lying in bed with my well worn path cards, 'Legend' popped into my head, in fact it did so several times, it still floating around now. I wonder if this is the name I am supposed to have? it rather an odd one, but who am I to question, I always thought that Wolf, forest or somesuch would be in there. Anyone have any thoughts on it they might wish to share? www.livingspirits.co.uk

I've tried a few different names over the years and originally I went by Rowan as this is my favourite tree. I have no astrological associations or anything like that with this tree but it just felt right. However as just about every other witch is called Rowan I decided I wanted it to feel a bit more personal to me. Quickbeam is an old Celtic name for Rowan and as I have Celtic roots it just seemed to fit. (Also fans of Tolkein will know he names his rowan ent Quickbeam and I'm a huge LOTR fan!) But any way, back to the point I was trying to make, it's important to go with whatever "feels" right. If you feel the name Legend fits then I'd definately use it. Whatever you finally decide on I'm sure it will be perfect =] Blessed Be, Quickbeam

They are cards like Tarot, but they called The Well Worn Path, I use them (amongst others) instead of Tarot as I couldn't get on with actual Tarot cards no matter how hard I tried. www.livingspirits.co.uk

Have you considered using your real name?
Or changing the spelling or it so it feels special to you?
My name is Jason but I used to change it to Jacen when I was in circle to seperate the magickal from the mundane.
Now though, I see magic everywhere so I use Jason everywhere...

Bright Blessings my dear.. As to knowing your age, you did indeed mention it in your post of April 3rd. So no, I don't know you.. but I have joined your forum..so I hope to rectify that in the near future. As to my name, I was always drawn to Shepherdess, and it did and does feel right for the daytime and out of the circle.. but it did'nt have the mystery of the night... I thought about a shepherdess being a guardian and followed that to Moonguardian which felt so right for the night and circle work.. and Scarlett is because I have rather a lot of red hair... therefore Scarlett Moonguardian... but above all despite my explanations, it just felt right.. I hope your quest is answered soon.. Blessed Be.x
