well, it depends how formal or informal you want to be

here's a pretty informal one for you to try out, if you don't like it feel free to adapt it and have a play

casting circle

using your athame/wand/right (right is the yang side of he body) index finger, starting in the north, while pointing at the floor walk in a clockwise motion visualizing an electric blue or violet light flowing from the athame/wand/your finger and drawing a circle on the floor around your working area with you in the centre. as you do so say: "I conjure this circle to be a protective barrier against all evil and a container for the power which I shall raise in my workings" point the tool/your finger upwards and say "as above" and visualize a dome of the same colour as the circle rising above you from the ring and sealing at the top, point at the floor and say "so below" and visualize the same happening beneath the floor so that the bright ring of light is the equator to a sphere that is half above and half under the floor.

after that, call the quaters

calling the quaters/evoking the elements

start facing east with your arms crossed over your chest (hands on your shoulders) (you don't need the athame/wand for this)

say:"I call upon the element of air, lend me thy strength and guard this circle!" open your hands and raise them up so you make a Y shape with your body and arms, visualzie the colour yellow in front of you and the powers of air flowing into the circle.

Move to the south with your arms crossed over your chest and say:"I call upon the element of fire, lend me thy strength and guard this circle!" open them and visualize as with air, but with the colour red and the element of fire.

Move to the west with your arms crossed over your chest again, say:"I call upon the element of water, lend me thy strength and guard this circle!" open your arms high and wide again visualizing blue and the power of water.

Finally, move to face the north with your arms crossed over your chest, say:"I call upon the element of earth, lend me thy strength and guard this circle!"
visualize in the same way as the other elements, but with green and the power of the earth.

and finally, invoke the God and Goddess

stand with your arms high and wide, facing north, close your eyes and visualize the Lord and Lady, how they appear to you, any scents of perfume, sounds of their voices, feel of their touch and their presence, reach out to them with your senses and you mind until you feel one with them and say:"I invoke thee and call upon thee Great Mother and Father of us all, descend from your seats in heaven, from the souls of the moon and sun, fill my body and soul with your presence and let your lights flow forth. Let your love and your strength fill me so you may aid me in my working."

lower your arms and cross them over you chest for a few moments, then you can start your working.

To close, thank the God and Goddess in your own words for their help and feel their presences fade away to reunite with the universe. Do the same with the elements, visualizing and feeling them reuniting with the world around you.

to open the circle, stand in the centre, visualize the top and bottom of the sphere melt and dessolve back into the ring of light around you. Start again at the north with your right index finger/athame/wand and walk counterclockwise, vsializing the circle being reabsorbed into you finger/the tool as you walk round. When you reach the north again say:"this circle is open, but never broken"

and then clear-up and go about your every day stuff
