My grandfather is back in hospital, and my entire family is convinced it's his time. We're going down to see him, and I'm very nervous about it. Does anyone have any help of any kind, even if just to ease the suffering, of both my grandfather and my dad, his son? My dad went through a bad time when his mum died a few years back, and I'm worried about how this will affect him if his dad dies too.

These times are always hard. Its scary, no one really knows what we are going to or where. Even those of us with the deepest faith (although most won't admit it) are afraid of these times. But to be honest, take the time you have left together as a blessing. The grieving is part of life, the only way to ease it is to talk about the person after they have gone, remember they are not gone from your hearts and that in time we will see them again.

If this is your grandfathers time to go, then nothing will ease that pain of him leaving. But I wish you love, happiness and strength to get through the pain of this. Remember though that if you are at your fathers side then with your love you are already helping him in the best way you can.
