I'm not from Windermere, but I was in the village of Hawkshead which is on the lakeside, for a camping holiday last month. Me and my boyfriend found a great crystal shop there, they even had crystal pendulums, I bought a beautiful silver, amethyst and quartz crystal one! It's near the Beatrix Potter gallery, you can't miss it. the village barely has 10 streets!

There is also a beautiful crystal shop up at Ambleside. They sell everything from tiny stones to huge geodes, stone set jewelry to carved stone ornaments. Up until recently they had a store in Bowness, but that closed down, but I understand that their store in Ambleside was staying open. There is also a really old book shop in Ambleside too were you may be able to get some interesting books. You are very lucky to be moving up to the Lakes and you certainly won't be short of inspiration for your practice with all the beautiful scenery around you.
