Hi guys, just wondering about what people's opinions were on this

people have said to me that to be a proper wiccan or one of the Wica, you need to be part of an established coven which is part of a tradition.

But, what about us solitary eclectics who call ourselves wiccans? (because afterall, wicca is the spiritual path not the tradition, is it not?)

this made me think, could solitary eclectic Wicca, because so many people are choosing to follow it as a path, could id be classed as a tradition in itself? one that spawned from traditional wicca as part of it's growth and dawning into the 21st Century

also, maybe we should reconsider how we title ourselves, if one wishes for a label, for example, granted you can say you're a wiccan to someone who is not a wiccan, but to someone who is, maybe attachign the tradition that you follow to wiccan will help define the path you follow? eg. Solitary Eclectic Wiccan, Gardnerian Wiccan, Alexandrian Wiccan, Georgian Wiccan etc. rather than just saying Wiccan

I have been a solitary wiccan for 20years and have found its how your relationship with the Goddess and God develops for you that matters. Dont listen to others ,I temporarily met up with a local coven ,but found the way they worked left me unable to connect in the deeply spiritual way I was used to when I worked alone. Eventually you may find that you need to work within a coven environment if its the path for you, you will be guided to it.
