hi people i hope you can help me buy answering 1 or both questions! 1) i have a really nice bos that i have been using for a while, but i didnt no muchabout it then and i would like to start it again, but dont want to buy another one as i really like it. so, would it be ok to rip the pages out? and next question: 2) as it is the witches new year on samhain i have decided to dedicate myself to the craft on october 31st because i feel i am ready and am a solitary wiccan. i think it would be a good idea to start preparing and planning what i am going to do for it a month in advance (tomorrow) anyone got any ideas what i could do? brightest blessings, love and light )O(

It'd be fine to rip out pages, so long as you don't mind the appearance afterwards lol! I've ripped pages out of previous BoSs, an alternative is to glue the problem pages together so there's no risk of the other pages falling out and you will still have some pages left : )
so, as far as I know, it should be fine to rip out the pages
as for a dedication ritual, I'd devise something from your heart, put it in the basic ritual structure that you use, then write any procedures and words that you feel will introduce you to the Goddess and God, and that tell them that you are ready to dedicate yourself to the Craft. Most dedication rituals contain some form of oath or vow saying you will dedicate yourself to the craft, whether for the rest of your life or a year and a day (until you feel ready to dedicate your life to the craft) or any period of time you seem fit.
Hope this is of some help applerose
Blessings

for my dedication i did a big ritual it took me like a 3 weeks to write out it took 3-4 pages of A4 paper so the best thing i would say is just plan every detail down to item placing and words actions its the best way for your first one because after a time it will become natural and you wont stick to it the same every time. if i could i would send my ritual to you as a outline but its basically tuned to me and my deity's and beliefs BB BlueMoonWonder

I had my robe made by the folks at, www.occultsupplies.co.uk. The site doesnt seem to be working at the moment. If you can get on there, the service is excellent. Daniel /|\

I notice no one answered your new year question. I am a solitary and dedicated myself at Samhain many years ago and have always thought of it as the new year as it is the end of old and the beginning of new. It is also the most psychic time of the wheel. Whatever you do as a deication ritual will be right for you but you don't need to take yourself too seriously as the Gods have a wicked sense of humour at times - all was going well with my ritual until I realised that I'd left something out of the cricle, dropped my 'crib sheet of wrords' that I'd written and then started to hiccup nervously! Once I realised that things weren't going exactly as planned I started to laugh, apologised to the God, Goddess and the watchtower guardians and then relaxed. Things improved from then on in and I felt more 'at home'. I have been enjoying being a Wiccan for many years since then and know that this is the way it was meant to be - serious but fun too. Many blessings on you as you take this step.
