From time-to-time we all come across an area that is thick with negative vibes. If you're moving home it may be a residual energy from previous tenants, it may be caused by bad tempered teenagers that have to stay with you because they're yours:), or it may be you want to clear an area in your home before performing a ritual.
This incense recipe utilises the natural energy of herbs and resins,
carefully chosen for their negativity clearing properties. Once blended,
sprinkle on hot charcoal when needed and store the remaining incense in a
dark jar or bottle.
Ingredients:
2 parts Copal
2 part Frankincense
1 part Myrrh
1 part Sandalwood
1 part Basil
2 parts Lavender
Pinch of Gum Arabic
Method:
- Grind the Copal using a pestle and mortar until it looks like small pieces of gravel. Place in a large container.
- Grind the Frankincense if it needs breaking down and add it to the container with the copal.
- Grind the Myrrh using a pestle and mortar, add it to the container.
- Grind each of the herbs in turn using the pestle and mortar, to
break the outer coating and release the energy. Add each one to the
container with the resins. Sprinkle on the pinch of gum Arabic.
- When all the herbs and resins have been ground and added to the
container, stir the contents with your hands. As you stir, close
your
eyes and picture the smoke from your incense burning on the hot
charcoal. Picture the smoke swirling around the room, into every nook and cranny. As it swirls, it attracts all the negative vibes present to it - like iron filings to lodestone. The smoke gets blacker and blacker as it attracts the negative energy. Now picture the window open a crack, the black smoke escapes through the open crack, taking with it all the negative energy. Once all the smoke has escaped, feel the lighter atmosphere, the peace the calm. Open your eyes - your incense is
ready to use.
Using Your Incense
Top your hot charcoal with a teaspoon of the incense, close your eyes
and bring back into your minds eye the image of the smoke escaping through the open window. Leave the incense burning in the room (attended!), top up as necessary until the disc has burned itself out. The area should now feel much lighter, with a pleasant 'Chi'.
