DESCRIPTION

Canopic jars were sacred to the ancient Egyptians. During the mummification process, the canopic jars were used to store the internal organs. The jars are represented by the four sons of Horus, who helped the spirits on their journey to the underworld.

Hapi is represented with a baboon head and was the guardian of the lungs.

These impressive ceramic canopic jars have a removable lid and are decorated in the lavish golds, reds and blues of the Ancient Egyptians.They are lovely for using on the altar to store, cones, herbs or other magical bits and bobs.

The Hapi canopic jar stands approx 22cm tall and measures approx 11cm across - at the widest point.
