DESCRIPTION

Bast - the Egyptian Goddess and protector of Lower Egypt and the Sun God Ra. She is commonly identified with the Roman Goddess Diana. A symbol for Independence and Protection. Originally depicted with the head of a lion, Bast later became depicted with the head of a cat. She is portrayed as having gentle ways, but retaining the vigour, energy and protectiveness of a lion underneath.

This Bast statue stands approx 13cms tall, with a base diameter of approx 6.5cms.

The statue is decorated in rich golds and reds, and hieroglyphs run around the base.
